SUGAR BEACH EVENTS PRESENTS
“SEAFOOD WITH STYLE” COOKING CLASS WITH CHEF LEE

Fish is fast-cooking and healthy. What better combination is there when you’re hungry? Hawaii has some of the best fish in the world. Let’s enjoy what our local oceans have for us.

The ocean-centric meal we make during this cooking class will leave you with a newfound love for fish and shellfish.

We will make a little bit of everything in this class and you will learn seafood cooking techniques from Chef Lee Anderson that you can easily recreate in your home.

Carl Anderson will make some cocktails that will pair perfectly with the delicate texture of the seafood. We might even do a little wine with dinner.

In this class, you will learn how to prepare:

MENU

  • Olive oil poached fresh catch with lemon and capers
  • Seared scallops
  • Shrimp cocktail with spicy horseradish sauce
  • Shrimp with Mango and Lime
  • Spice-Rubbed Tuna with Remoulade
  • Scallop Ceviche
  • Miso Marinated Walu
  • Steamed Mussels with Thai Coconut-Curry Broth
  • Shrimp and Grits
  • Blackened Salmon
  • Miso and Ginger Roasted Salmon
  • Sesame-Crusted Tuna with Mango Salsa

Sugar Beach Events will provide all the kitchen equipment and supplies.

  1. Hello. I would love to do the seafood cooking class. My only hesitation is a am severely allergic to shellfish but only if ingested. Do you think this would be a problem?

We can keep a separate area for the shellfish so there is no cross contamination. You can go in the group that doesn’t work on shellfish recipes.
If you do sign up, please remind me at the beginning of class so I can get you in the correct group.
      Hope to see you there!

  2. Aloha Chef Lee; Michael S Schindler ( Kihei Canoe Club), (dadqummit) a gain, my bad. I couldn’t act fast enough to get in Friday/ Saturday classes. My Sunday’s/Monday’s are dog sitting (doggonit). If you have any cancellations, even with short notice. I can be there Friday/ Saturday. Otherwise, no worries, it’s all good, better timing on my part. (dagnabbit). Be well to you and Ohana.
