Architect George Rixey is a well known architect, builder, and town planner on Maui with over 25 years of experience in the islands and comes from a family tradition of architects, engineers, and builders. His work ranges from designing and building the smallest projects such as the life guard towers in Kihei and Ho’okipa, to residential building of all types and locations, to community service projects such as Kihei’s skate park and inline hockey rink, to town plans for the Maui county government and Maui’s many cherished small towns.
George is also an adventurer of the ocean with a great love of Hawaiian culture and tradition. He enjoys surfing with his two children Adams and Colette, swimming in the ocean with his wife Randy, windsurfing, Hawaiian outrigger canoe sailing, and paddling across the many channels of the Hawaiian Islands. Architect George Rixey has paddled with a dedicated group of inspired athletes in a Hawaiian 6 person outrigger canoe to all of the islands of the Hawaiian archipelago ranging over 1,500 miles in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
