On This Day We Two Shall Wed…
On July 7th, 2014 we celebrated the marriage of Katie and Chad
According to the popular wedding tradition, brides are supposed to have “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue (and a sixpence in their shoe)” for good luck. The something blue represents fidelity and purity. As the color of the sky and ocean, blue often has a tranquil, calming feel that is especially fitting for island weddings. It’s a wedding color we love, and we are so happy Katie and Chad felt the same way.
Big mahalo to PhotoHawaii, Inc. for the lovely photos.
We get excited when familiar elements are used in unexpected ways. Mini blue lanterns acted as vases on the tables, holding a tea light and beautiful flower provided by Maui Floral.
Appetizer: Baked Brie in Puff Pastry
Seasonal Grapes, pears and Kula strawberries with truffle honey
Salad: Spinach and Kula greens ~ strawberries, hearts of palm, feta cheese, walnuts and poppy seed dressing
Entrée: Duo of Filet Mignon and Shrimp
Armagnac Reduction, Tangerine Buerre Blanc
Chef’s Choice of Starch and Vegetables
Towards the end of the evening, Chad surprised Katie with an amazing guitar serenade of “I Want To Grow Old With You.” He had been practicing guitar without Katie knowing so she was completely surprised when he busted it out.
Congratulations Katie and Chad! Thank you for choosing Sugar Beach Events to be part of your Maui wedding!
