Rebecca and Kenson were married at Sugar Beach Events on February 1, 2017. It was a picture-perfect day in paradise with sunshine and light trade winds, a day Rebecca and Kenson had been dreaming of – an intimate, romantic and classy Maui wedding right beside the ocean – a sweet celebration of their love.
When we saw the photos from Kaua Maui Wedding Photography we knew instantly this wedding needed to be featured on our blog. We love the color palette of seafoam aqua and white, and all the wonderful details included. Florals were done by Country Bouquets of Maui in classic white, which brought so much beauty to the decor.
There are a lot of great moments, but one of the moments of a wedding day the couple will remember for years to come is before the ceremony when they are getting ready. Our Maui wedding venue offers our couples two great areas for prepping. The girls get ready in our Bridal room, which features comfortable surroundings and the all-important full length mirror. This is where hair and make-up is done, plus a lot of champagne toasting. It is totally private and located right next to the Grand Hall where the reception takes place. The guys get ready upstairs in our alcove which overlooks the Grand Hall and the ocean outside.
Planning a wedding takes time and thought, but with good wedding planning comes beautiful details that make the day even that much more spectacular. Guest table details for Rebecca and Kenson included a Hello Kitty bride and groom, a precious momento for the years to come. Other personalized touches were the Seafoam blue frames, with one stating, “Today we celebrate 2,555 days since our first date!” This kind of personalization adds flair and something sweet for the guests to discover and enjoy.
Right outside of our beautiful Grand Hall is the lawn all decorated and set up for the ceremony guests. The ocean and beach are steps away from the wedding canopy where the wedding vows are exchanged. With the sound of the ocean, Don Lax on violin, and the canopy draped in white, it is a gorgeous and romantic setting for our lovebirds.
As the guests were enjoying cocktails and beverages, our servers came around with passed appetizers. For the passed appetizers, Rebecca and Kenson chose Kamuela Tomato Bruschetta, Miso Marinated Walu with sweet soy, sticky rice, and Kalua pork pot stickers with a sweet Thai chili sauce.
Fresh Maui butter lettuce with aged white cheddar, vanilla bean vinaigrette, cranberries and toasted almonds.
Fresh searched catch with garlic, lime and cilantro compound butter
Tuscan marinated sirloin steak with a shallot compound butter.
Spaghetti and meatballs and fruit; Chicken fingers and fries.
Two Tier Vanilla Wedding Cake with lilikoi cream filling and a butter cream frosting.
It was a beautiful intimate celebration of love for Rebecca and Kenson with friends and family gathered around to share in their happiest of days. We wish them both many years of sweet happiness together!
