They decided on their specific wedding date of December 18th, since it is also their anniversary date of when they first became a couple. They knew that having a Winter wedding could be challenging weather-wise, and it was pouring rain for three straight weeks right up until their wedding day, when suddenly it cleared up and the winds died down — Mother Nature’s gift to this special couple. To top it all off, with the dramatic clouds came a glorious sunset. It couldn’t have been planned any better!
Special Wedding Details
A nice touch for the guests were personalized fans that were inscribed with DT and Joel’s hashtag: #dtandjoel121816. Each guest also received a shot glass, which was a perfect gift since the couple has an amazing shot glass collection from all the different places they have been while traveling.
After a spectacular sunset, one of the best we’ve ever seen, the party moved indoors into the Grand Ballroom for dinner and dancing. DT and Joel wanted to have as much periwinkle blue as possible that they even requested blue champagne for the toasts and a blue velvet wedding cake which Chef Lee happily granted.
The celebration ended with amazing Polynesian entertainment, from a hula lesson to a thrilling fire knife dancer. It was a wedding full of love, laughter and fun. We wish a lifetime of the same for our newlyweds, DT and Joel.
