How bout this…. we have our first official cake order!!! How can you have a business named Sugar Beach Events and NOT have a bakery? Right? Natalie O’Brien has worked for me for 5 years. She is an amazing , young, talented woman who has a passion for all things culinary. I think that’s why I like her so much; she loves the kitchen like I love the kitchen.
We started working on the bakery concept several months ago and everything just started falling into place. We have this gorgeous new kitchen and it is the perfect time to launch this new aspect of the business. She has been working in our test kitchen, along with an assistant, perfecting cake recipes and combinations. Our first order is a dark chocolate/orange cake with a chocolate Italian meringue frosting and finished with toasted almonds. Put it this way, she made some test cupcakes and I sold them in my bistro….in a day!
Let me be the first to introduce you all to Chef Natalie and tell y’all how excited I am to have her as a part of my team. If we need any taste testers, do I have any volunteers? 🙂
